This sector working group holds competences in policy areas related to:
(1) Organized Crime, with focus on:
- police reform;
- further professionalization and de-politicisation of the police;
- capacity-building for the border police to secure national safety against transnational crime, illegal migration, trafficking of drugs, firearms, good and humans, and terrorism threats.
(2) Financial Investigations, with focus on:
- improved effectiveness and transparency of the special investigation measures, proactive investigations into organized crime, including financial investigations, control and oversight on the national intelligence model;
- implementation of the criminal justice reform.
(3) Information Technology (IT), with focus on:
- fight against disinformation;
- fake news, and
- digital trust.
The sector working group is formed in 2017.

In addition to state actors and donor representatives, civil society organizations also participate in work of this sector group since 2018.
