On 23.05.2022 (Monday), starting at 11.30 a.m., as part of the project “CSO Dialogue – Platform for Structural Participation in EU Integrations” will be organized conference “HIGH HOPES AND GREAT FALLS: VIEWS OF CITIZENS AND CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANIZATIONS AND EFFECTS OF SECTOR WORKING GROUPS”.
The conference will be organized as online event on ZOOM platform, available on this LINK.
It will include presentation of data from three cycles of survey research conducted in 2020, 2021 and 2022, based on analysis and establishment of trends under key findings from the general population survey and survey research among civil society organizations.
Findings reveal how much citizens can impact decisions taken by municipalities and at central level; are citizens satisfied with their place of residence; whether the EU accession negotiations process will improve life in the country; how important is the Republic of North Macedonia’s membership in the EU to citizens; do civil society organizations have opportunities to participate in EU integrations; what share of civil society organizations are informed about and have participated in work of sector working groups, etc.
Introductory remarks will be delivered by Sandra ANASTASOVSKA, Program Coordination from the Foundation Open Society – Macedonia, followed by presentations on survey findings by Tanja IVANOVA and Blazhen MALESKI from Reactor – Research in Action. Researcher
Reflections on the model of social dialogue we need on the road to the EU will be given by: Bojan MARICHIKJ, Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs, Fani KARANFILOVA-PANOVSKA, Executive Director of the Foundation Open Society – Macedonia, Irena IVANOVA, Task Manager from the EU Delegation, and German FILKOV, President of the Center for Civil Communications. All panel speakers will discuss survey data, effects from work of sector working groups and civil society participation in EU accession processes. The debate will be moderated by Nada NAUMOVSKA, .
This conference is organized under the project “CSO Dialogue – Platform for Structural Participation in EU Integrations”, coordinated and implemented by the Foundation Open Society – Macedonia, in partnership with Reactor – Research in Action, Eurothink – Center for European Strategies and the Center for Civil Communications.
