EDUCATION, SOCIAL POLICY AND EMPLOYMENT секторски работни групи / EDUCATION, SOCIAL POLICY AND EMPLOYMENT

This sector working group holds competence in policy areas related to:

(1) Employment, with focus on:

  • stimulating employment and support to social and economic inclusion, including for minorities and vulnerable groups;
  • labour market policies and active measures;
  • continuation of active employment;
  • modernization of the social protection system and introduction of modern family policies;
  • social dialogue, improved administrative capacity for implementation of labour laws.

(2) Education, with focus on:

  • education for economic growth and development;
  • improved quality of education, relevance of curricula and matching labour market needs with qualified labour force.

*Education policies in this sector working group are separated under the subsector on vocational education and training (VET)

(3) Social Policy and Inclusion, with focus on:

  • reform in the social protection and healthcare systems;
  • improved access to quality social services and care, including healthcare services, especially for vulnerable groups such as Roma;
  • improved access for young people and women to labour market and social protection mechanisms, and increased participation of these groups on the labour market;
  • access to affordable early childhood education and care, as well as enhanced policies that support access to labour market for parents;
  • access to education, employment and social services for disadvantaged groups, such as Roma, women that suffered domestic violence and persons with disabilities;
  • delivery of social services and reduced risks for social exclusion;
  • capacity-building for monitoring and evaluation of social inclusion and wellbeing among youth, women and vulnerable groups, and elaboration of effective and contemporary social policies.

The sector working group is formed in 2017.

  • Secretariat for European Affairs

In addition to state actors and donor representatives, civil society organizations also participate in work of this sector group since 2018.

SWG Education, Employment and Social policy is the only working group in the sector education, employment and social policy (link to more information).
