This sector working group holds competences in policy areas related to:
- policies to support agriculture and rural development;
- quality of food;
- organic agriculture;
- standards on food safety;
- standards on animal health and wellbeing;
- rural infrastructure;
- small-scale irrigation systems;
- agro-ecological renewal practices;
- preservation and advancement of eco-systems;
- agro-ecological and organic agriculture;
- forest protection;
- local action groups and agriculture holdings.
The sector working group is formed in 2017.

In addition to state actors and donor representatives, civil society organizations also participate in work of this sector group since 2018.
