Chapter 30 mainly consists of directly binding EU legislation which does not require transposition in the national legislation. This chapter originates from the EU’s multilateral and bilateral commercial commitments, and a great number of autonomous preferential trade measures.
In the area of humanitarian aid and development policy, member-states should comply with the EU legislation and international commitments and to ensure capacity for participation in the EU development and humanitarian policies.
The member-states expect accession countries to progressively align their policies towards third countries, as well as their positions in international organizations, with policies and positions adopted by the Union and its member-states.
