21 October 2020 – IPA Sectoral Monitoring Committee for the Rule of Law and Fundamental Rights held its fourth meeting today, in Skopje. Representatives from state institutions and the European Union involved in the work of this committee discussed current state-of-affairs in respect to implementation of IPA assistance in this sector.

Key issues discussed concern organization of monthly monitoring meetings, promotion of IPA operational structures, introduction of new strategies for integrated border management and probation reform. Moreover, the meeting was concluded with proposal to advance several specific projects under implementation, and proposals for project evaluation.

The civil society representatives advocated for greater transparency, notably by publishing an annual calendar with dates for meetings and by circulating relevant materials prior to organization or meetings by sector working groups.
