“We are all together in the fight against this vicious virus. At this time of need, the EU will support North Macedonia with 4 million euros for immediate needs, 50 million euros for socio-economic recovery, 9 million euros for the private sector, and 3 million euros as direct budget support” announced EU Ambassador Samuel Zbogar on his Twitter account.

This was also announced at today’s press conference held at the Government, organized on the occasion of the confirmed start of accession negotiations with the EU. Interim Prime Minister Oliver Spasovski and Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs Bujar Osmani announced that our country expects assistance in 70 million euros that will be deployed in different stages to the healthcare system, as well as assistance for economic recovery.

“All that needed to be done by the Macedonian Government is delivered. We are in continuous contact. In just few days we can expect the first instalment of assistance funds. The part related to civil protection is activated. It means that all activities that should be taken by the Macedonian Government and the EU are now taken jointly to successfully deal with the pandemic”, stated Prime Minister Spasovski.
