Minister of Information Society and Administration Damjan Manchevski and Executive Director of the Foundation Open Society – Macedonia Fani Karanfilova – Panovska signed a memorandum of cooperation on 20 December 2019.
The memorandum of cooperation represents commitment by the Ministry of Information Society and Administration (MIOA) and the Foundation Open Society – Macedonia (FOSM) to ensure essential and structural participation of the civil society in key sector reforms under the EU accession process.
Through the project “CSO Dialogue – Platform for Structural Participation in EU Integrations”, FOSM will implement activities to increase visibility of sector working groups and will actively support their work by providing essential and structural participation of the civil society, having in mind the specific needs of individual sector working groups.
FOSM is committed to build and improve the structural dialogue between institutions and the civil society through different activities, such as development of a platform as central point for sharing essential and relevant information from institutions and civil society organizations, sector policies and national consultation processes, coordination meetings, sector-specific consultations, conferences, capacity-building activities, visualization of key conclusions, live-streaming of sessions held by the Council for Cooperation with and Development of the Civil Society, development of 27 reports on work of sector working groups and other activities.
Under the established cooperation and partnership and with a view to promote the structural dialogue, MISA will share and exchange essential and relevant information necessary for the civil society to participate in sector policy creation and national consultations, will ensure presence of MISA representatives at workshops and conferences, will ensure presence of civil society representatives and researchers in sector working groups to develop independent annual report on work of sector working groups.
The Foundation Open Society – Macedonia has signed memoranda of cooperation with the Secretariat for European Affairs, Ministry of Education and Science, Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, while underway is signing of memoranda with other line ministries responsible for work of relevant sector working groups.
The project “CSO Dialogue – Platform for Structural Participation in EU Integrations” is financed by the EU Delegation in the Republic of North Macedonia, implemented by FOSM in partnership with Eurothink – Center for European Strategies, Center for Civil Communications and Reactor – Research in Actions, and in cooperation with the Secretariat for European Affairs.
